Australian Garden
A large, relatively flat green lawn is surrounded on 3 sides by tall, park-like trees. A narrow road runs along the north edge, ending in a circle at a macadamia nut tree, and above the road slope the Jungle and Subtropical Gardens. West of the Australian lawn stretch trees, bushes and flowering plants native to Australia and New Zealand, with a particular emphasis on eucalyptus. The Meander on the lawn looked like this in 1999 when it was created by artist Alex Champion as part of a show at nearby Armory Center for the Arts. Visit www.earthsymbols.com or ac@earthsymbols.com for more information.
